Pet Meal on Wheels (PMOW) Serves Seniors, over 60 years old, already taking part in the Meals On Wheels program (for humans). They can apply through Senior Services Ocala. Please Call Julie at 620-3437.
Donations of dog and cat food, dry or canned, biscuits and gallon size plastic bags are always welcome and can be dropped off at Marion Co. Sr. Services headquarters.
Meals On Wheels provides food for home bound people age 60 and older. Many are low-income, although there is no minimum income requirement.
Some of these seniors live with one constant companion: their pet. Often, people with the meals program say, "These seniors end up sharing their warm meal with their cats or dogs, or in some cases, give it to them entirely."Though the priority is providing meals to seniors , the pet food program improves the quality of life for its clients.
